Marc sent a message to Thomas M. Rutledge Chief Executive Officer and President of Charter Communications, Inc. Email Address that said:
Hello Mr. Rutledge,
As a recent Charter subscriber in the Connecticut area - I was, at first, disappointed with the antiquated equipment required in my home to receive services, switching to a TiVo set up required the addition of a clunky and misbehaving HD Tuner box and multiple tech visits.
BUT recently, I purchased a Roku device specifically because i noticed SpectrumTV App was offered as a seamless channel.
Now, with the clunkiness of the Charter devices, combined with my desire for multiple neat TV installs, for example outside - This is exactly what has kept me loyal to Charter now.
I had experimented with Amazon Fire, Chromecast and AppleTV devices all of which required me to connect through Spectrum (when available) to my standard and premium channels all in separate and distinct areas. For example logging into HBO GO, or Showtime or CBS all with very distinct experiences.
With the SpectrumTV app on a device like Roku I have direct access to my standard and premium channels in an experience that actually goes beyond any my TiVo or cable box can provide.
I wanted to let you know that Charter's decision to embrace this type of engagement with their subscriber base has changed my mind about the company and my service.
The digital device market was unbundling your ecosystem of channels and services. With the SpectrumTV app and partners like Roku - you have been able to rebundle it on a different medium and potentially stem the tide of cord cutters.
By giving me other ways to access my subscription (which runs over $150/mo.) I am likely to never "cut the cord" and continue to simply go to one bundled provider who allows me access on multiple digital devices through one set of log-in credentials.
Well done and thank you.
