Hello, my name is Grace. This may not be your usual email, but I'm asking for some serious help. My sister, Brook-Lynn Michelle Knight has been cheering her entire life basically. Putting in hard word, every day. Being a full time student, worker when she got older, and cheerleader. We are from a small town in Kentucky called Cadiz. I know everyone has their sad life story, but I'll tell you a little bit about ours anyways. Don't worry, it'll be the sort version. Our parents got divorced after 17 years of marriage in the early year of 2012. I was around 11-12 years old, and my sister was around 13-14. We stayed with my mom and grandma for awhile and eventually my mom lost her way. She left us for a few months and eventually developed an addiction to pills. By this point my father had been married to a new woman, who was once a stripper. Yes- a stripper. Don't stress, they got a divorce before too long. We were forced to live with them once or twice. Miserable. My dad promised us a lot of things to persuade us to leave our mother. "I'll do everything for you - college, a car, a phone, help you achieve your goals/ dreams". Yeah right. Glad we believed that. Skipping forward a year or two ---- Here we are. In need of $22,000 because my dad will not help her. After he said he would help her with the loans, and took her to see her favorite college campus (OSU), and took her to tryouts for their cheer team, and convinced her he was gonna help her completely. You may ask where my mother is in all of this, and she did get help for her problem for a little bit. But then got worse again. She's been arrested 4-5 times and has used meth multiple times. (Youd know that by looking at her). I honestly don't know what the truth is from her anymore. God knows if she still does it.
My bestfriend, and sister has graduated from high school and all of her hard work has finally paid off. She's gotten accepted into OSU and made it onto their cheer team!!! She plans on majoring in Molecular Biology. A future Cardio Thoracic Surgeon. She gets to study for her dream job, while cheering for her dream team. It's all any of us have ever wanted for her. To see her get her dreams. And by God she worked to do it.......
Except theres one problem. Our father has said he won't sign the loan for her to go and theres nothing else for us to do unless we can come up with $22,000 by August 15, 2016. I am watching her dreams be crushed and there's nothing I can do about it. Except write. So Im writing and writing.
I am writing for my sisters future.
I am writing for the 16 years I've watched her bust her ass to obtain her goal of college cheer.
I am writing for the person who I would do anything in the world for.
You will see below a few pictures I've added. Two of me and my sister, and one of her on one of her happiest days (when she signed to go cheer at OSU)
I know that there are people out there with MUCH bigger issues, but I hope you will consider. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I've literally googled ways to earn $22,000 in less than a month, and emailing NICE, CARING, wealthy people was about the only thing I'm capable of doing at 15 years old. If you do consider please e-mail me back or call Thank you for your time.
All the love,
Grace
