I really sorry for having this way to contact you, I had no other alternative.

My name is Marcio, I live in Brazil, I am an owner of legendary Tenere 660, it has 30,000 kilometers and has a chronic oil consumption problem.

I have been riden motorcycles for 19 years, always had motorcycles with more than 10 years of use, so I need to know how to do maintenance.
I bought the Ténéré with only 4500 km and did not really expect to have a problem so serious and as far as I know this kind of engine can usually run for more than 150,000 km without maintance.

Searching at the internet, I noticed that this motorcycle has a failure in the air box system design. Allowing the dust inside of the engine and damaging the cylinder.

Already opened earlier Protocol at SAC and Ombudsman and still could not recognizing this manufacturing problem.

Last Friday 10/07/2014, I went to a Yamaha shop to change the oil at Diamar (Yamaha representative) in São Paulo motorcycle dealership. I asked seal around the engine oil system.
I rode 1200 kilometers this weekend.

On 07/13/2015 at the dealership back to again change the oil and for verifying the problem, the bike consumed 400ml of Yamalube 20W50.
