Hello Sir,
I hope all is well with you. I do need a moment of your time. I have an issue with the Safeway store here in La Grande Oregon. The store had a coupon printed and also updated on the just for you app. My wife and I got up early to go get a sale that was published in the local Safeway ad. I spoke to an sales person named Mike and he told me that yes it looks fine and there should be no trouble. I got up to the register and started to check out and the customer service rep and assistant manager came to the checkout line and said that the sale is false it was a misprint and that they would not be honoring the sales ad. I was very upset. I spoke to them and told them to prove to me that it was wrong. They held me up in the customer service area for 45 min and then made up a retraction ad. I know that they stalled me in the customer service area until they printed it up. I have the policies from Safeway and it states in there that Safeway should honor the ads listed. Gordon the manager told me that in no way shape or form he would honor this sale. I am very frustrated. In union county Oregon we have this issue all the time where the stores do not want to operate according to their policies. I know that this is probably not a big deal to some people but I need these sales that come out. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford to do much of anything with my kids. We only shop at Safeway for food, because you can't trust Walmarts meats and produce, and this is the treatment that we get in return. Safeway prints an ad is out for days and then will not honor it. I called Safeway HQ and spoke with customer service and the lady I spoke with stated that yes they should have honored it, but when she called and talked with Gordon he told her flat out that he would not be honoring this period and for me to go fly a kite. He also lied to her and stated that he had the shelves marked at 6:30 and I was in the store before that was the reason they changed things. Mr. Edwards please help me, these managers here use this store as their own and will not honor the code that was set for by your board. I am very upset and need to be heard. There have been many more instances in this county where this happens to people all the time. TO the point where people are afraid to go use coupons in the stores here, and that is wrong just plain wrong. I printed Safeway's business conduct and ethics sheet and am sad to say that your manager here doesn't use any of the traits that you list your employees are supposed to have. Please help.
