Hello Sony,
I am a longtime PlayStation fan and supporter. I've recently purchased the PSVR and PlayStation Pro and its come to my attention that the processor box from the PSVR wont transmit HDR signal, only 4K. So now every time I go from my PSVR and want to play Battlefield 1 I have to continually swap cables! This is not acceptable. Its a big inconvenience and I am worried that i will damage the HDMI port on the Pro. I hope and strongly suggest that you release a cheap workaround for it ASAP and would like some information on this. A Sony developed HDMI switch or something along those lines. I cannot for the life of me understand why there isn't 2 HDMI ports on the Pro? This seems like a glaring omission and I am not impressed. Which brings me neatly onto my next major complaint.
Grand-Tourismo Sport,
The raw, live feel that you get when you sit in the cockpit of a car using PS VR is something that wasn't possible in GT before.
"The tracks are very interesting in VR. But we're letting you explore the environments in virtual reality, such as the interior of cars. I think that kind of subtle usage is best for VR."
Yamauchi
This is what I read in an interview by the games boss, Yamauchi. I have to ask has he even played racing gamers in VR? Is he for real? The best use for VR is to race as if your in the cockpit, full level of immersion not look at how pretty the interiors are and how nice the tracks look the fool. I then read this in another article................
“It will be one part of the game,” explained Yamauchi, speaking to Eurogamer. “One thing we discovered in developing and doing the VR, to do the whole game playable in VR is going to be a strain on the players. You can see in the demo downstairs, there’ll be a VR Tour mode that’ll be included in the game. That showcases the VR effects.”
Strain on the players???? Who does he think he is to decide what will be too much for us the players? Again has he even played any racing games in VR? The mans a fool. Personally I think his time as the boss of GT should come to an end. He clearly misses the point of VR and it goes straight over his head. GT Sport VR, Sony, would of been the killer app everybody wants on PSVR.
As for Yamauchi I'm reading between the lines and believe because of his bad direction and inability to design games in a timely fashion I believe whats he actually means is "I take so long to design a game that to implement VR into it, it would delay the release to 2025"
Its ok though we will have Driveclub VR updates and Driveclub 2 to look forward to! But wait no we wont because some wally at Sony decided to disband Evolution Studios just as PSVR comes out! Top move Sony. Big mistake in my opinion! Okay they messed the release up but the way they communicated with the fans and the game it ended up being means they deserved another go at it. Not only that but there wont be any future updates to take advantage of the Pro and PSVR! As brilliant as DCVR is, it seems Asseto Corsa and Pcars are not supporting PSVR and the fool at PD is so shortsighted and believes he knows what all the gamers in the world can and cannot handle I really cant see where the next racer is coming from and I am questioning my recent expensive Sony purchases.
I've also recently purchased one of your 4K HDR 65in TV's and even that's not working right either. I've not got the option of making the screen bigger when watching films on the Pro or on netflix/amazon prime apps already installed on the TV. I've spent £2550 on sony products in the last 2 months and I'm not very happy.
That said, software apart I love the PSVR and think its amazing. Well done. I just hope you give it the support it deserves. Up to now I'm not hopeful.
Your Sincerely
Michael
