Hi , I was a long time Black Decker breadmaker owner. Sadly as of 1 month ago my breadmaker died. Most likely the motor as I've had for over 10 years. So just before it died I had purchased another breadmaker, but this time it was a Hamilton Beach breadmaker. That thing is a piece of garbage. I have just finished emailing their customer support with a note thatI would be emailing the CEO of Black Decker. The following is my email to them.
Hi,
Approximately 3 weeks to a month ago I purchased a Hamilton Beach breadmaker. I do have to say that I was pretty excited about it, because I have been making my own bread for the last 10 + years and my beloved Black Decker breadmaker had sadly given up. I think it was probably the motor that was giving out. Most unfortunate.
Like I said I was pretty excited to have a brand new breadmaker, never been used. Should work like a charm....should have worked like a charm. The 1st loaf I made was a 2lb loaf. The machine struggled with it. I get that. It was a lot of flour, etc...other ingredients etc. I thought the machine would have/should have been able to handle it, considering it was a brand new breadmaker, and there are recipes for 2lb loaves. My next loaf, I stuck with the 1.5 loaf. It did a little better, but I thought it still struggled. I used it again this morning to make a loaf of French bread, wow did it struggle. I literally had to help it along. Moving the dough with my hand. With a brand new breadmaker I definitely should not have to do that. So I thought what would happen if I take the dough out altogether. Well, don’t you know it...it worked like it should, motoring right along. I put the dough back in..same thing. Struggling, labouring.
To say I’m disappointed is a gross understatement. I would not recommend this breadmaker to anyone, and I will make myself known about this on social media as well. This happened to be the 1st Hamilton Beach product I have ever purchased, and it most certainly will be the last. I will also be contacting Black Decker and sending this email to them as well
Thanks for reading.
