Pete sent a message to Matthew S. Levatich – President and Chief Executive Officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Hi Matt,
I am writing to you because of the way that I have been treated by Heritage Harley Davidson in Lisle Illinois. They sold me a 1995 Harley Davidson Bad Boy that was advertised as "great condition" and then refused to reimburse me for the repairs that were necessary under the 30 day warranty that came with the purchase of the Bike. The Bike bike was repaired at a Rommell in New Castle Delaware.
The thing that really bothers me the most is that after owning a multitude of Harley Davidson motorcycles for the past 38 years and I currently own three, is that the brake light was on all the time because of the bent pushrod in the front brake caliper. I could have been rear ended. Or even killed. In addition, they sent a copy of the invoice for the new battery they installed to Rommell to remove from the invoice under warranty because they had to install another one. The bike I bought had serious electrical issues too. I was stranded on the side of the highway the day after the bike was delivered. I was told by Steve Adams at Heritage that it would all be worked out after the repair invoice was finalized. It's $647.00. My request for reimbursement is being completely ignored. It's sad that such an iconic brand treats great customers this way. Please call Matt at Rommell and he can tell you the exact repairs that were needed. I frankly can't believe how I am being treated by Heritage Harley. I look forward to speaking to you soon.
Pete
