Hi Mr Gilbert my name is George and I am not sure you are going to get this letter. I have been coaching basketball for the last 18 years and we have built a tremendous program at Tappan Zee High School Ny. We have played in the state championship and have had numerous college basketball players. We as a family have had many challenges. I have a 4 year old daughter who has nf1 micro deletion which is an aggressive form of nf1. My daughter Brielle is currently battling an optic glioma and finished 1 year of chemotherapy. I really want to establish a tremendous fundraiser for nf 1 in my area and would love your help as a fellow basketball lifer. I ran the marathon last year with 10 teachers in my school and raised 10,000 dollars. I believe with your help i can rally our county as a basketball community to establish a nf1 tournament to raise money. Not sure if you would want to help spearhead this event with me but i really want to help others dealing with this but there are not many people that can understand the strength of these young kids like you would. I have given my life to basketball and raised a family type atmosphere but would like basketball to be a tool to raise awareness and money that could spearhead new medical breakthroughs. I am sure you are busy but thought it was worth a shot to reach out to you. Thank You for your time and consideration. NF1 one family is a group of strong people that most people could not understand.
