Mack sent a message to Roger S. Penske – Chairman of the Board and CEO of Penske Corporation – Email Address that said:
Hi, my name is Mack. I hope you can take some time to read my email. I am 11 years old and I currently race a Honda Cadet Synergy Kart in the UK. I race most weekends but my main championships are SYKC (South Yorkshire Kart Club) Barnsley, England and the NKF (Northern Kart Federation) which is a National Championship which takes us all over the country.
I race in a team called MBM they have taught me my race craft and my dad, Jonathan, is my mechanic, which takes us all over the country.
My dad says you are the owner of Sytner. As he owns a Smart Repair Company, he actually does work for Sytner Select in Wakefield, England. He repairs and paints the cars and details them refurbishes the alloys, making sure they are pristine before they go on the forecourt.
I know you have had an amazing career in cars. Having your NASCAR Indy Car teams. Last year we raced in memory of the late Justin who tragically died racing the Indycar 500 race at Pocono. Justin used to race karts at my local track, Wombwell and Mark, my team manager knew him and his family very well.
I’ve just heard today that I came 10th in the NKF championship, even though we missed 2 meetings. It means I get to go to Silverstone to be awarded my trophy. Next year, I hope to be in the top 3. I have one more meeting at Wombwell and I’m currently in 2nd place.
Next year I want to continue racing, but we need more sponsors to help. Currently my sponsors are my dad’s business and family. For the last 2 years I’ve had all of my birthdays and Christmas presents as gifts for racing and I will carry on doing.
I wondered if you would be willing to sponsor me in any way, so I can continue to race. It would be an honour to have your team Penske on my kart and race van. Maybe one day I will be good enough to race for you.
Thanks for taking the time to read all this.
