Alex sent a message to Nigel Travis Chairman and CEO, Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc. that said:
Hi there,
I am a frequent customer at the Dunkin' locations in my area. I often buy 12 bagels at a time to save myself daily trips for breakfast. Unfortunately, I rarely receive the 12 bagels that I request. I no longer ask for a dozen, but actually say the number 12 because I initially assumed the people working at your stores didn't know the meaning of the term. On more than 7 occasions since I have started specifying the number 12, I have arrived home with my bag of bagels to discover that I was given anywhere from 8-11 bagels instead of 12. While I can see how this error might occur once or twice, more than three times suggests to me that it is an intentional strategy on the part of Dunkin' Donuts to cheat their customers. As the price of 12 bagels rose almost $4 at your stores in the past year, I certainly expect to receive my money's worth. I am hopeful that you and your staff will be able to correct this. My family likes your bagels and your coffee is second to none, but I cannot continue to support a brand that cheats its customers on a regular basis. Thanks for looking into it!
