June sent a message to Thomas J. Folliard President and Chief Executive Officer of CarMax, Inc. Email Address that said:
Hi Tom, I had purchased a 2010 dodge journey in October 2014 at CarMax on highway 45, Spring Texas. I had to bring it back almost immediately as the fog light was smoking. That Fixed. I noticed when I bought the auto that the back tires (all new) leaned in but just thought that was the way it was supposed to be. Found out the hard way that it was rear end alignment (and they had to have known at the dealership but did not fix or tell me) needed to be done. After one year with brand new tires, I had to replace the back two as they were shredded by the not fixed alignment. This was last fall. Also had to replace front brakes twice within six months because I now also need two new rotors. Then this past January, battery died. Got that replaced (and let me tell you the person who designed this needs a shrink. Why would you ever put a battery in such a hard place to access, not to mention no way to check transmission fluid). The same day I replaced the battery, I had an overheat problem. The first time I took it to our nearby shop (this all happened from January through now, March 23, 2016.) on a Monday and missed work because of this, they said it was the reservoir bottle and they replaced it. Lasted a bit over a week and then it overheated again. This time it was the hose that heats/cools the back of the auto, so that had to be replaced. now another week later, overheat #3, the thermostat had to be replaced. Not long after that, overheat #4, they said it could be the motor and they put a sealant in the motor. Two days later, overheat #5 something to do with assist/relay for the fans. Four days later and it is in the shop again. This time, they tell me it is the water pump (again, what kind of moron would put the water pump inside the motor?) and something attached to it and the timing belt. The cost to fix it this time is $1000. I have already spent a couple of thousand and I can't even finish paying my rent! I am basically considered part of the poor population and I struggle to pay my bills. This auto has drained me so bad I do not l know what to do. I can not afford to fix it and I have not been able to complete my payment to the finance company. I took it back to CarMax this past Saturday and they would do nothing for me. Told me I was too upside down. Here is how I see this. I have been sold a lemon (I know it is used and I feel certain that it has been in an accident with a prior owner), and I am sure the dealership knew that. This auto should never have been put up for sale until all problems were fixed. Now I have lost so much work, I am afraid they will fire me. I can't afford a $1000. to fix this auto. At this point, it seems all I can do is let them repossess it. Then here I am with no transportation for work. I really think you and your company need to work with me and get me into something reliable or take back the auto and dont charge me for it and I can find something else somewhere else. I really do expect an answer back and I really am not going to let this go. I will do everything I can to make life hard for CarMax if you all refuse to help me. I am serious. Thanks, June
