i have bought alot of goods from home depot over the years. I live on an island and often overbuy because I have to take a 2 hour ferry to the mainland to go shopping...I have never had a problem returning any item but recently i bought $800 worth of goods using a gift card of $188. When i tried to return the excess goods, with a receipt within the 30 day limit, i was denied returning anything. When i called you retail equation department they said that because i used the gift card for part of the purchase i was denied getting anything refunded. I was told to look at your return policy and nowhere does it state such a thing. I was also told that this had come down from corporate. But your return policy is pretty clear about having a receipt. I would not have minded a store credit for the part used by the gift card but i was denied ANY return. Again, no where in your return policy as listed on line does it say such a thing...Please help as this seems really unfair on many levels and you equation department is basically saying "too bad, so sad" thank you s richard
