Honorable Ms. Jane Fraser
CEO , CitiMortgage

My name is Farasat “Fred” Khawaja. I am a Certified Public Accountant and, I have small accounting practice in the city of Allen, TX. I have two dependents my wife and a son. My life was quite active and normal until 2013 when I was diagnosed for the first time for Parkinsons disease. Initially, I did not realize the seriousness of the issue but slowly and steadily I started facing problems in my movements and other small things such as driving a car, go to the restroom and getting up and in from the bed. By the end of December 31, 2016, I was completely bed redden and disable to do any work. I get help from Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services for seven days a week to take care of my daily activity such as food, help in taking bath and taking me to the doctors clinic for appointments, Due disability I am unable to perform most of my daily activities.
By June 2016 my illness was so severe that I started skipping the office two to three days a week which was immediately affected my revenues and lost three of major clients by August 2016. I was worried how I will keep up with payments when revenue was decreasing and my health was deteriorating. I was very concerned about my situation and looking for some solution. One day I was on your CitiMortgage website there was an advertisement regarding helping homeowners who are facing financial difficulty, hardship and health issues such as disability, etc.
I submitted my first application under loan modification program which is supported by FHA and other government mortgages programs offered to people who are facing financial difficulty and hardship due to disabilities. So far seven months has been passed by and the CitiMortgage is keep charging the same mortgage amount of $1,586.79 every month. I called several times to Mr. Gilbert D. Ponce de Leon and always told me he is very busy and did not have time to talk. I was expecting some adjustments should be in my mortgage payment. Since I was going through severe financial and health crisis without any decision on modification mortgage loan. During this crisis my daughter offered me to pay my monthly payments and I changed my bank account to my daughters bank account and during this some expenses and income transactions were not booked in my account and inadvertently forgot to include in 2nd quarter of 2017 profit and loss statement of my accounting practice. These transactions were immaterial. The initial profit and loss statement was provided on Monday September 18 and the revised one provided on October 8, 2017.
Furthermore, I will appreciate your help for explanation of following correspondence:
• Letter dated 09/18/2017 received in mail on October 1, 2017. The letter confirms my verbal authorization of a payment arrangement on CitiMortgage Loan# 0770561564.
o I did not discuss any authorization of my CitiMortgage loan payment of $286.79 and the money was withdrawn from my Regions Bank account ending 2689 without my approval.
• Letter dated 09/18/2017 received in mail on October 1, 2017. The letter confirms my verbal authorization of a payment arrangement on CitiMortgage Loan# 0770561564.
 I did not discuss any authorization of my CitiMortgage loan payment of $1,300.00 and the money is withdrawn from Chase Bank account ending 9138 without my approval.
 Under the normal circumstances my mortgage payment was withdrawn every 15th or 16th of each month. My September 2017 payment was withdrawn as usual on 18th of September 2017 but I was not expecting any additional withdraw of $1,300.00 on September 19, 2017 the total amount with drawn from the account was ($1,586.79+4$1,300} $2,886.79. Chase bank charged me additional fees of $118 for insufficient funds and online transfer fee. I am on a very tied budget and I am counting pennies for my expenses. Please consider verify these transactions closely and reverse any additional amount charged from me.
• Letter dated 09/26/2017 received in mail on October 2, 2017. The letter mentioned I must pay $74.21 by certified by 10/01/2017 to correct the matter. As I pointed out earlier the letter was received on October 2, 2017 at 5:30pm I am not sure I can pay this amount in back date.
• I tried to call few times CitiMortgage Support Team and requested for the explanation of these letters and the amount withdrawn from my account without my approval but unable to get any clear explanation regarding this matter. I also discuss this matter with of the manager at CitiMortgage and she mentioned I can arrange a telephone call appointment with the convened employee. I did not receive any return call for my request.

I am a very loyal customer of Citimortge and over the 14 years of mortgage history 99% my payments are on time and has no second mortgage and no bankruptcy.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks and best regards,
Farasat “Fred” Khawaja, CPA
