George sent a message to Abigail Johnson – President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Investments and Chairman of Fidelity Worldwide Investment email address that said:
I am terribly sorry to bother you with this email but I have a problem with a Fidelity account and cannot get in touch with anyone who can resolve the issue for me. I am an American citizen currently living in Europe with a Fidelity account which receives payments from customers of my business while I am away. The amounts are relatively small and I use this account as a place to hold these incoming funds. One of the customers even uses his Fidelity account to transfer the funds into our account. Several weeks ago I was locked out of accessing my account for reasons which have never been fully explained. All I know is that the Fraud Department is involved and I cannot speak with anyone in that department. I was told I was suspected of money laundering. I have sent in requested paperwork only to have additional requests come back for more paperwork. I would like to be able to speak with someone from the Fraud Department to understand exactly what they need to resolve this issue and assurances I will not be locked out of the account again. I am happy to provide anything I can but I won't cooperate further with their unending requests until I know more about the problem. Your standard CSR people, while nice and as accommodating as they can be, have been little help. I need to speak with someone with authority. The suggestion that I may be attempting to launder money and not allowing me to reach someone who can resolve this problem timely is an egregious issue. Thank you in advance for any assistance you might offer.
