I am writing about the differences in payment between my neighbor and I for the exact same garbage services. I live at 12 Dutch Meadows Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047. My neighbor lives at 10 Dutch Meadows Drive. We have the same size containers , get our garbage collected on the same day - yet I am being charged $30 more per quarter than my neighbor. This has been going on since I became a customer. When I was being charged $90 - my neighbor was charged $60. I have previously called the local office about this issue, but found out earlier today that I am still being charged a differential rate. I should add that my neighbor is White, I am Black. Aside from race, I can think of nothing else that differentiates myself (or services) from my neighbor. I am getting ready to contact the New York State Attorney General's office but have decided to contact your office before doing so. I await your response.
