Ebele sent a message to Akio Toyoda President and CEO, Toyota Motor Corporation – email address that said:
I am writing to you today on a very urgent matter. My name is Ebele. I am mother of four and a student nurse. I leased a 2013 Toyota Sienna back in 2013 with a $10,000 down payment then. The van was our family car to and fro work and school. It was my second Toyota car which we love for its reliability and efficiency. I was hoping to finance it at the end of the lease but due to financial quagmire beyond my control I could not.
The lease on the vehicle expired May 2016. I wrote to Toyota requesting an extension but never received a reply. I later called and was told because I had credit issues (a chapter 13 to save our home) I cannot extend the lease. I even offered to pay the fees from now till December but the person I spoke to refused citing that I must return the car immediately.
The car was just taken this early morning. I am writing to see if we can work a deal to keep the van till I graduate in December. I have a child who will be undergoing bone marrow transplant to cure a blood disease in November. We need transportation during the period. I am asking that you look into the matter and assist us in any capacity you can to get the van back or get into a new one .
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Ebele
