edward sent a message to William H. Rogers, Jr. CEO, SunTrust Banks, Inc. that said:
I am writing you so you should be aware of how your equity loan staff treat someone who has been a customer of the bank for many years and has left large sums with you from time to time.
I applied for a home equity loan last month and was told that my income was not large enough to support a $250.000 line. My income was $100,000 INCLUDING distributions from my Master Limited Partnership earnings. These earnings, (while tax-free) and NOT reported on my tax return I was approved for $178,200. I then spoke with the loan officer and requested that they re-review my application because if they included the MLP income I would qualify for the $250,000
The appraiser was to come to my house on Thursday and when he did not appear I called him. I was told the appraisal was cancelled, yet no one from Suntrust had the courtesy to call me.
Anyway, the laon was then DISAPPROVED entirely because my income in 2014 was less than 2013 (and not by much. In 2013 I made a large downpayment on the house that I was looking for the loan for,,,,,naturally my dividend and interest was lower
I felt I was treated very unfairly. Your rules for not including MLP income tells me your staff is ignorant of what they are
My credit rating is over 800 and my bills are always paid on time
With treatment like this would you keep your money in this bank?
Looking forward to your reply
Edward
