Greg White sent a message to Craig Menear Chairman, CEO and President of The Home Depot email address that said:
I am writing you to voice my disappointment with your Florence Ky. store # 2306. My son approached the store for a donation to support his BSA Eagle Project. I personally talked to Janet Eilerman which committed a $500 donation of materials, but informed me she was transferring to the Dayton Ohio store, but Sam Meek or Rob Fedders would follow up and grant the donation. Unfortunately, after 13 return visits no one would follow through. We talked with Winfield Brown on Tuesday and he made a few phone calls and got things moving to the point of creating a Quote #H2306-66290 which was initially made out to EGC Construction because their name was on the plans they donated. That was supposed to be changed to Troop 890 on pick up. This evening we went to pick up the order and Mgr. Eileen Shudcamp denied the request and stated they would only donate $25 after Winfield even went as far that they would split the donation between three stores to make it work. Well thats that and we went to Lowes and they were willing to fund the whole project if we could wait for their board to process it. After all this time with Home Depot we couldnt wait and they immediately offered 50% off on the order and my son had raised enough money to cover it, we will find enough money to cover any overages, but to say the least we are not happy with Home Depot and your community involvement appears to be a sham. My son I believe is learning a valuable lesson on promises not being kept.
