Edith Hannah-James sent a message to Michael D. White, President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer DIRECTV, Inc. email address that said:
I decided to email you in hopes that you can direct this to the person who might be able help me. I have had DirecTV for the last eleven years and have to cancel it because I am retired and can no longer afford the fee.
I spoke to a very nice young man in Customer Service and arranged to send back the equipment. He then put me through to Billing. I spoke to a man called Fred and he insisted that I pay $320 for cancelling early. If I had $320 I would have kept the service. He said that it would be reviewed for a waiver and it would take 5 -10 days. The next day he left me a message saying everything he had said the day before - verbatim. What happened to the waiver review?
