I have asked Hilton Grand to buy back my timeshare and feel that they will not consider this. I have sent 2 requests and a subsequent email. I have been a loyal Hilton honors member for years and would never have bought the timeshare had it not been for the Hilton name. Here is an excerpt from my latest email (to which I got the - we will deal with it in 7-10 business days). I appeal to you to deal with this.
Two years ago I purchase the Hilton Timeshare. I purchased it when I was asked to come to a presentation and meeting in Orlando. I was initially quite skeptical about purchasing this and asked if I would be able to sell it back should it turn out that I could not keep it. I was told that Hilton stood by its name, valued its name in the marketplace and did not want any unhappy customers and that Hilton Grand Vacation Club being a part of the Hilton name would uphold the same reputation as the Hilton Hotel Group would.
I recently sent an EMAIL to the sales group that I would like to sell back my unit. I have been put on mandatory retirement and will not be able to use or pay for the unit and cannot afford to maintain it.
Letter Excerpt:
I received a response (see below) that was stating that the unit that I purchased for $14490 with an $1890 down payment is now worth $650 - $950 and that I should continue to pay off my mortgage on the unit. I honestly find it hard to believe that should you bring someone else down to purchase property that they would pay that amount. I find it appalling that Hilton would respond in such a manner. I have been a Hilton member for many years and would not have purchased the property if I thought that Hilton would not stand by its reputation. I am not looking to make a profit, just to get my money back.
