Rick sent a message to Kevin Mansell Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Kohl's Corporation Email Address that said:
I have been a regular shopper at Kohls for many years. I shop at Kohls for the friendly customer service, quality merchandise, and ease of ordering online and abiility to return itemss at the store.
Yesterday in Pittsburgh - Kohls personnel pursuing a shoplifter(s) placed a mother and two young children at great risk. The actors these Kohls workers were pursuing backed the get away vehicle in a mother and her two children who were in a stroller.
Thankfully these innocent bystanders appear to have minimal injury. While the cost of theft impacts us all, is there anything that compares to the cost of a persons life or serious injury?
I strongly suggest that Kohls re-examine their corporate policies and training of security regarding pursuing suspects outside. This was a narrow miss.
I have more than 20 years of public safety experience. I expect Kohls to improve and enforce policies to keep customers safe.
