I have recently taken my 2004 mercury momterey to Reineke Ford in Findlay Ohio to have the torque converter replaced under the active recall. They replaced the torque converter which made the problem even worse. It was jumping in and out of gear slamming into gear making the van jump forward it ran for approximately three more weeks until it completely gave out. No motive power at all dead on the road. We manage to get it back to a Ford dealership in fostoria Ohio which in turn towed it to Findlay's location they tell us they don't know where it is at that point Derek the service manager had a real attitude about it from the start. They locate the van in the parking lot the next day. And they tell me that if the diagnostic tests show it is the torque converter or related problems then it will be taken care of under the recall. Which from my research I have found that this faulty torque converter will cause the transmission fluid to boil from malfunctioning. The test supposedly says it's just the transmission so now they are telling me they can't fix it under recall and that I owe them 110 dollars for the tests and have to move the van before it becomes theirs. With a major attitude. I ask how that isn't related because the torque converter makes the transmission fluid boil which in turn caused the transmission to malfunction completely 3 weeks after the torque converter was replaced. I am a single mom on a fixed budget and have no way to get anywhere to even be able to pay that 110 diagnostic fee let alone get my van back. I am really disappointed in the customer service I have received thru this. I took my van to them to have the torque converter replaced and it ran worse and was more dangerous to me and the three small children I have to drive to appointments and school. I don't understand how this is not a related problem and how I take it to be fixed and get it back in even worse condition. To just have it fail anyhow. It would have lasted longer if I hadn't taken it to have that replaced. So here I am stuck in a small town with three children and no van. I don't see this as acceptable and definitely dont see any integrity in this. Ford has been sued over this exact issue and still isn't willing to do anything except ruin my vehicle and tell me I owe them or it becomes theirs. Thats not how I assumed a major popular company like this would handle an issue when they used over 2000000 faulty parts on their vehicles. I would like this to be resolved in a better manner than this. The service manager Derek has an attitude with me and I see how that is even remotely acceptable... Thank for your time and would be grateful if we can find a better way to resolve this issue
