I hope this email finds you well. I am a BUSM M.D. candidate who has successfully started and ran 3 companies at the age of 19. Due to this experience and my dedication in educating homeless youth, I have invested in launching a program called School for Gifted Youth . We are a 501(c)3 founded to help solve the homeless youth crisis through housing and customized education (prioritizing homeless and low income youth who have fallen behind or are very motivated in school). We believe advanced and supported education is the key to solve the cycle of homelessness many children face. Our shelter provides online schooling and shelter for unaccompanied homeless youth along with private tutoring from graduate students and teachers which guide each student to catch up on missed work, skip grades, and even start college as early as 14! Our services also reach out to low-income youth to prevent further homelessness. Typically, over $10,000 a year is spent on educating one child. This funding goes to waste when a child does not feel comfortable enough to learn. Our goal is to empower homeless youth by the means of education. We aim to open in Boston by September at the latest, as it is colder and unlivable for those without heating.
We would greatly appreciate any referrals to contacts who may be interested in supporting or sponsoring our organization. We could have the potential to gain more volunteers, awareness, and funding in order time to provide timely services for the homeless children in Boston. We have generated over 30 volunteers in the past month who are ready to begin helping youth this Fall.It would be amazing to have your support to help educate and empower the homeless youth in Boston. Thank you so much for your time, I hope your week is off to a great start.
Warmly,
Amareen
