Maxwell sent a message to Sergio Marchionne CEO, Fiat S.p.A. – email address that said:

I just wanted to comment on the brilliance of the new Fiat 124 Spider. I have been interested in them since I originally discovered that they were coming out, and I finally got the chance to drive one on Thursday. It is simply an amazing piece of machinery. Mechanically it is incredible, and cosmetically it is a true Italian piece of art. I absolutely adore the car and look to possible buy one once I can afford to. To better understand my love of the car, below is a somewhat faux-car review I do for friends on social media that sums up my feelings.

- " My take on the The 2017 Fiat 124 Spider. Quite possibly the most fun car I've ever had the pleasure of driving. The "Fiata" is produced in the same assembly plant in Hiroshima, Japan, that the Mazda Miata MX-5 is produced on (bet you didn't see that one coming, eh?). Fundamentally the same car as the Miata, the 124 Spider brings back a retro styling palette that is meant to (obviously) throwback to the original 124, and also hint at the styling of British roadsters of the '60s and '70s with the long hood and short rear deck (I get a touch of Spitfire and MGB, anyone?). So it's Italian designed, Japanese engineered, a throwback to beloved British roadsters and on top of that ... it's built on an older American Idea; building a fun, quick, and stylish car that the average person can afford. Sounds like the 1964 1/2 Mustang to me ...yes, no? Speaking of the Mustang, I actually drove a 2017 GT almost a week ago and was extremely put down by not only the price, but the "Fun factor". If I was actually in the market for a new car, I would legitimately take the new Fiat over a NEW Mustang GT simply because the 124 Spider is a more exciting car, and delivers a more thrilling driving experience than the Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro (V8 models) for over $10,000 less. This kickass little roadster delivers 160 HP (roughly 170 out of the Abarth), and 184 FT-LBs of Torque out of a "Garrett" turbocharged 1.4 four-cylinder that shares technology with Ferrari. 0-60 in roughly 6.0 seconds. Top speed of 138. And that's the stock, Classica. Imagine when simple bolt-ons come to the scene. Best part? Up to 35 MPG ... AND IT COMES IN STICK SHIFT! You can pick up a brand new 124 Spider "Classica" for a starting price of roughly $25,000, making it one of the best "Bang for the buck" cars in the current market (personal opinion). My ONLY complaint is that it is, very apparently, a tiny car. Thus, the interior is a biiiit cramped. Not terribly so, but it is certainly smaller than I am used to. But considering how much of a blast I had on the ten minute drive, the price, the near perfect weight balance, the style ... the whole package .... I could definitely get used to it. If you are in the market for a fun, sharp, good-on-gas car, I would highly recommend that you check one of these things out. Simply an incredible car."
