Nancy sent a message to Mark Parker President and CEO, Nike, Inc. – email address that said:
I just would like to start off by saying I am an officer who has been wearing Nike shoes as long as I can remember especially at work. I discovered in the last couple of years Nike had an officer appreciation day and officers were given 30% off. I'm appalled that you fell to the scrutiny of the pubic, some of which probably don't even wear nike. I work hard everyday and so do many of my fellow officers. I'm sorry that we have a few bad apples in the bunch and they have done unacceptable things, however other officers should not have to suffer any more then we already do from their wrong doing. I feel that you taking away the day is like agreeing that all officers are bad. Nike has always been my favorite, but I'm starting to feel that I need to rethink that. I hope you will reconsider taking away that day from all the good officers out there.
