Joan sent a message to W. Craig Jelinek – President and Chief Executive Officer of Costco Wholesale Corporation email address that said:
I was at Costco at the Kirkland location and witnessed something that really upset me. The cashier was processing my purchase when an older Asian woman came frantically up to her and said her purse was stolen from her cart. The cashier didn't react or say anything - she just pointed to another employee who was at the front of the store. I watched this poor woman go the other employee and he did not react quickly and didn't look concerned. Another employee came up and she had to deal with him and this employee also did not look concerned. I was shocked that there was no urgency or compassion displayed toward this poor woman. I couldn't even imagine how she must have felt! I was and still am so angry as to how this poor woman was treated. The employees at this store need a lesson in compassion. This happened on 10/20/16 at around 1:15 and the cashier's name was Christa (according to my receipt).
