Debbie Beck sent a message to Carlos A. Rodriguez President and Chief Executive Officer of Automatic Data Processing, LLC. Email Address that said:
I was recently informed that someone got into my ADP acct. and was attempting to change my direct deposit information. My company recently enacted a process where ADP contacts them to let them know of attempts like this. I went into my ADP acct. saw the incorrect info and then logged out to let my company know to Reject the request. When I went back in to take a screen shot of the attempted wrong information - it was already gone - this was good. However, I then asked if ADP had the fraudulent information in their system, if they reported to anyone about the act. I was told ADP had no such process.
I am not happy with that answer! First, I want to clarify whether or not ADP does have a reporting process when someone tries to change some information on a clients acct. Because my company put a process in place where ADP sends a notice of some kind that there was an attempt to change personal information, I was alerted and told that no action would take place with my paycheck until I responded. Once a Reject This Action notice was sent to ADP - why then do you not have a fraudulent reporting process? That Reject notification from my employer should have thrown up a Red Flag that something was wrong.
I cannot believe that in the times we have now, ADP does not have more security and reporting in place. Why is there not a report that goes to the FBI or Homeland Security to alert them of possible suspicious activity with personal information and a financial account? Why does ADP not have a multilevel security check in place like my banking institution does - making it harder for someone to get into my acct?
My personal information, ssn, W2 information and all my other personal information is now out there and Ive now had my identity stolen.
What are your plans to overcome this shortcoming as I am not the only person who has experienced this with ADP?
I look forward to your response and a planned resolution to this breach of security.
