Geaniecesent a message to Gerard M. Anderson Chief Executive Officer of DTE Energy Company Email Address that said:
Illegal Collection practices.
DTE Energy shut off my services illegally on Thursday Feb 11, 2016. I was on a payment plan and making monthly payments as agreed when I received a shut off notice on Jan 30, '16; set for shut off Feb. 5th. I made arrangement with case worker at DHS to have the balance paid. The worker claimed that DTE refused to allow her to put a hold on the shut off to avoid shut off until my bill could be paid. I was assured by DTE representatives that my services would be restored on Feb 12th if I paid $177.00 and made monthly payment $75.00 arrangements on the remaining balance. I paid the $177.00 on Feb 11th and waited Feb 12th in a cold dark house and no one from DTE came out. Oh yes, my services was cut at the pole. DTE used a tool to go on top of my house to cut the wire over my house. I was told when I called that no one will come until maybe Tuesday Feb 16th to restore my power. I was told that because DTE cut my power on the pole it takes 3 to 5 business days to restore my power. I was further told that If they cant come out by Tues, it may take another week to get someone to come out. It has been below temperature wind chill. I have no heat, no food, and numerous documented medical concerns that require use of medical equipment that I currently canât use because I have no power.
I no longer want DTE as my medical provider. You representatives are rude, and liars. I have been laughed at and hung up on numerous occasions. Iâve asked for a refund and DTE has refused but yet will not restore my services. DTE believes that it can treat its customers any type of way and they have a monopoly on certain areas in Detroit; well I will work as hard as I have can to have this changed as least for me.
