It is unfortunate that I have to write to GE Appliances, Office of the President, again. Previously, your company replaced my washing machine due to a catastrophic failure. This occurred in early 2015. I am sorry to say that the exact same thing just happened again to my replacement machine. I can tell by looking at the machine that the bearings have broken free and ruined the drum. The drum has a big crease line through it.
I find it very unbelievable (but true), that I could have 2 machines both have catastrophic failures within 2 years of ownership. The first time it was 14 months and this time it is 20 months. There must be a fault with the machines. I feel that the machines have too high of a RPM which causes the parts to break free from vibration.
I wish I had the contact info of the very nice woman from your company who helped me last time, but I don't, so I am starting from the very beginning with the complaint process.
I just had a major issue with my GE Dryer as well, but that machine was at least 3 years old. The issue I have with that repair is that it took at least 5 service calls to get the repair correct. The machine ended up getting all new rollers and a new belt at the cost of approximately $480. That also seems to be a very serious issue for a machine that is only 3 years old.
I want to point out that these machines are used to wash laundry for a family of 5. We are not a commercial laundry. Washers and Dryers used to last 10-15 years, but I am having only a 1-2 year success rate with your machines.
We might as well just get that replacement machine ordered now and speed up the process!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
