I wanted to reach out to you for an issue I am having with FPL. I am a Navy Veteran, and I just bought my first house using my VA loan in Margate Florida. I called to set up power, and I found out that FPL would not turn on my power without me paying an almost 600.00 deposit. I told them that I live off from my VA service connection monies (I am 100% service connected) and that I cannot afford that. I asked if they have a waiver for veterans or service members, and they told me they don't, only for active duty members. I find this appalling that they can charge such amounts, especially to Veterans. When I call and try to talk to them, they just insist me paying the deposit and move forward. I don't know what to do. They are literally going to drain my finances.
