Mr. William T. Dillard II, CEO
DILLARDS
Dearest Mr. Dillard:
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter, and I hope your day is going well. Im writing because I noticed that my most recent credit report contains a late payment recorded for my Dillards account# 579674125050 October 2014.
I want you to know that I understand my financial obligations and do not take them lightly, and if it werent for extenuating circumstance beyond my control, I would have never fallen behind. When I saw my credit report, I was devastated as I worked diligently to stay afloat during the truly difficult times. I was sharing a bank account with someone else and their record keeping caused mathematical errors in the account which had devastating results.
This unfortunate circumstance caused me to receive a blemish on my credit report along with your company closing my account. Of course, I continued to make timely payments and I paid my account in full. I made a mistake in my banking situation, but since then, I have more than doubled my income by accepting a new job, increased my knowledge and skills in personal finance through a FPU program, research, reading, and a financial coach. I want to make the best choices for my familys future and be an excellent steward over my finances and wealth.
I am recently married and my husband and I will be applying for a mortgage soon. It has come to our attention that the missed payment on my record could seriously hurt my ability to get an affordable interest rate. I truly believe that the one incident does not reflect my creditworthiness and commitment to repaying my debts. It would help my young family tremendously if you could give me a second chance and make a goodwill adjustment to remove the late payment from my account.
Thank you for your consideration, and I hope you will approve my request and possibly consider reopening my account with the Dillards Corporation.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Jazmynn C. Davis (formerly Robinson)
