I am writing you regarding your position on the frame replacement program and emission warranty.
I do not understand Toyotas position regarding rebuilt and or salvage titles as it relates to the frame replacement program. My truck was a flood vehicle as such I can see no logical reason it was excluded from the frame replacement program. This truck experienced the same premature frame rust through that my sons Tacoma did. His frame was replaced, mine was not.
I also had the catalytic converters replaced. The dealer stated that they were not covered under the emissions warranty. While the warranty pamphlet clearly states that it is covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles. These were replaced on 8/07/2013 when the odometer read 52,375 miles.
I have owned, a preowned Camry, 2 new Rav 4, all wheel, a new Yaris and the preowned Tacoma. My son drives a Tacoma 4x4 his wife drives a Sienna all wheel, my daughter has owned a Rav 4, all wheel and is driving a new Sienna all wheel. We are a Toyota family. My sons first Tacoma was bought back due to frame issues. It was this type of customer service that has kept us buying Toyotas.
I am asking you to reconsider my trucks eligibility for the frame replacement program, as it has been an excellent vehicle and I would like to continue to drive it. It currently has 80,000 miles and is in very good condition. I am also asking for reimbursement for the catalytic converters.
I apologize for the delay in writing this letter as I have been battling a chronic illness.
Thank you for your consideration,
Michael R. Wood
