@larrymerlocvs – Larry Merlo – Mr. Merlo, I am an Aetna retiree with 25+ yrs. of service. When I retired

Michael Gaffney sent a message to Larry Merlo that said:

Mr. Merlo, I am an Aetna retiree with 25+ yrs. of service. When I retired from Aetna in 1998 I received from HR my "Aetna Retirement Planning" pkg. stating my retirement benefits. On my "Retiree Group Life Ins. Info. Sheet" it's clearly states "Free "$7,200 Free Group life insurance will be continued and "$7,200 group life insurance available to you in retirement." When calling to check on this I was told that I wasn't even in the retirement system for life insurance. In my Retirement Benefits pkg. the benefits they said I would be getting were based on my years of service, no where in the pkg. does it say I needed to be 65 yrs. old to get these benefits. I spoke to Lisa in HR Retirement Services who told me "it looks like the ball was dropped and your paperwork wasn't sent over to the life insurance area when you retired." My retirement life ins. benefits that I was told I would be getting are being taken away from me. My wife, Betty Gaffney and I retired from Aetna the same time and moved to Maine, My wife worked 22+ yrs., and is in the system showing that she has a $5,000 group life ins. policy and yet I'm no where to be found. I would be more than happy to fax over again the info. I received to HR when I retired. IS THERE ANYONE IN UPPER MANAGEMENT WHO CAN LOOK INTO THIS? H E L P!!!
