Let me preface this email by stating that we have been a true Ford Family, from my late – Mark Fields email address

michael sent a message to Mark Fields – President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company email address that said:

Good afternoon,
Let me preface this email by stating that we have been a true Ford Family, from my late dad who had 1966 T-Bird,72, 75, 76, 78 Diamond Jubilee and my first car… a 79 Jubilee edition in maroon!

We currently have in our household a 15 F150 Platinum, my youngest just got her first car, 16 Focus Titanium and a 16 Fusion Se shared between my 18 year old daughter and my wife.

The reason for the long introduction is that I want you all to know WE HAVE ALWAYS LOVED FORD! I believed in the Ford American Work ethic and believed in your product. Thus my long relationship with FoMoCo.

Regrettably, I must share with you an incident that occurred in the 2016 Fusion yesterday afternoon.

My 18 year old daughter was driving the Fusion attempting to enter a highway ramp (Route 22 in Springfield NJ) to go dorm shopping for school.

Upon entering the highway and accelerating on the ramp the vehicle stalled and became unresponsive to acceleration while pressing down in the pedal.

The vehicle behind her began to accelerate; the Fusion then lost ALL POWER, the vehicle stuck her in the rear and pushed my daughters Fusion into an active lane with traffic traveling at 55MPH and up.

There was minor aesthetic damage to the Fusion. But that is not my concern in the least!

The Fusion was stuck on an active high speed highway, my daughter could or should have easily been seriously injured or killed!
This is the demarcation of a NEAR MISS!

A good Samaritan assisted my daughter by getting her vehicle on to the shoulder to a safe refuge on the roadway! The check engine light came on with the “wrench icon” the vehicle had to be towed to a local dealer.

I had to pick up my panic-stricken and crying daughter all alone from a dangerous highway in the evening, I am not happy, matter of fact I am furious, no wait furious is an understatement.
After calming down, I google Ford Fusion Wrench Icon and the loss of power etc. and find a couple of thousand articles pertaining to faulty throttle bodies! Not to mention NO recalls either!

Then there are 100’s of articles pertaining to injuries and fatalities due faulty throttle bodies! Ford sales failed to mention that during the sale!

I stopped at Ford Service this morning to advise them of the details of the incident and the Service Advisor stated “ah yeah gotta be the throttle body” “happens all the time” “there was a bad batch”!

So if my daughters were injured or killed Ford’s response would be “ah yeah happens all the time”? I am truly outraged and gravely disappointed in Ford MoCo.
Upon pick up car the Service Advisor sates “ahh should be OK now” Are you freaking kidding me????????????????

I am well aware of billion dollar companies and profits and such, I work for one for 30 years, but when lives are at stake there is NO EXCUSE!

The service invoice is written up as such that “lost hill assist and heard a noise and POOR PERFORMANCE???????????
Does Ford consider stuck on highway as with no power or ability to move as poor performance?
Forgive me your engineers call it LIMP MODE! It’s more like FATAL MODE!

That was never stated to advisor nor the Ford Road Side Assistance Operator! We stated SHE LOST FULL POWER and almost was killed….
All I received were scripted cookie cutter replies!

DO I SMELL “Watch what you document” service bulletins being sent to all FOMOCO Service managers?

In my opinion Ford has another Pinto on their hands!

My daughter is traumatized!
My daughter and wife both refuse to drive the car! Its it barely 7 months old and 8000 miles on it! The lease payment will not be paid and you can feel free to repo it, it’s all yours!

The car is sitting in my driveway, and will sit there and collect dust and dry rot; I will NOT risk my family’s life putting them back in it!

Forgive my fury that is palpable in this email, I’m not being melodramatic or exaggerative this is a serious issue!
THIS IS MY FAMILY, THEY ARE MY LIFE!

Ask yourselves this; how would you feel if this was your child?

I want answers ASAP

Michael
