Dear Mr. Storey ~
I'm sorry to say, CenturyLink is the worst company that my husband & I have ever had to deal with! And we have been long time customers, 30 years! The service is absolutely awful, 3 mps if we're lucky, and the customer service is even worse. But, we have to say the techs, even the 3rd party techs, were fantastic, or we would have been w/o internet longer that the week we had done without already. Our problem is that we were double charged for our modem (and everyone knows it's not the easiest thing to make heads or tails out of all of the details/charges on your bills!). There were two charges for one modem, $9.99 and a second for $11.00 each month for a very long time. When this was discovered going over our bills, we called to find out what we could do, the Customer Service rep could not really help us, above her paygrade I'm sure, we were transferred to a supervisor who basically said we were SOL, too bad, so sad! We should have caught it sooner. Well, how about if you had not double charged us and had done your job correctly to begin with? So YOUR mistake by not removing the 1st charge when the new modem was installed was our fault, I think not!! So, CenturyLink is allowed to keep the overcharges because of their mistake? Yes, we should go over every bill, line by line, even all of the autopays we have set up, download the bills and review every line, of every autopay bill that we have. I'm sure everyone does this for all of their autopay bills. We counted on CenturyLink to do their job to reflect the appropriate billing and charges, I guess that was a costly mistake. Because we were told that there is only 90 days to catch any mistakes or there is no other option. It is not fair as a consumer to have to pay the price of an organizations' billing mistakes. And also, as such a large corporation you would think they would be more considerate of their long time customers who are truly struggling. Neither my husband nor I have employment right now and it would have been a huge compassionate gesture to help us, in some way, to make this right...that is all that we were asking, I think that this is more than fair. Would like to know what your thoughts are Mr. Storey?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, appreciate any assistance that you can do for us!
Kindest regards,Â
