I am not an NHS worker but it seems to me that almost every hospital has an M&S food store.
Would it not be possible to have two bags of produce (one with vegetables, fruit and meat, the other with bread and milk - or some other combination) available for all NHS staff in each hospital.
You could close the store for everyone else and just have it available to NHS staff who will, of course, be in uniform or have ID. Details of each staff member could be written down so that nobody gets more than one allocation per day.
