@MarvinJCPenney – Marvin Ellison – Mr. Ellison,

I wanted to share with you my family\'s experience at JCPenney this year

Doug Edwards sent a message to Marvin Ellison that said:

Mr. Ellison,

I wanted to share with you my family\'s experience at JCPenney this year. On Black Friday we ventured forth to shop. It is an annual tradition in my family. One store we always go to is JCPenney, primarily for the annual Disney snowglobe. This year we saw in the Dallas Morning News that it would be the final year for the free snowglobe. I was puzzled when Maria Halkias stated it would be given away at 3PM on Friday when you opened 3PM on Thanksgiving.

We arrived at Stonebriar, around 11am, and I bought a winter coat. When I checked with the sales associate to verify the snowglobe time of 3PM, she informed me she knew nothing about that. I would have thought you would have made sure your associates would know what enticements JCP was offering customers; however, I trusted Ms. Halkias. As we plotted which stores to hit on our way back home in Lakewood, I stated we could swing by Timbercreek and pick up the final snowglobe.

We arrived at Timbercreek at 2:30p and waited with other customers for the snowglobes. 3PM came and went with nothing. I asked to speak to a store manager and he told me they gave them out at 2:30 because that is what JCP management told him. When I told him we were there at 2:30p and saw nothing, he changed his story to 2PM again stating that\'s what JCP management told him. I told him about Ms. Halkias column and the emails I received. Fortunately or unfortunately another customer overheard my conversation with him and stated she was there at 2PM and didn\'t see anything. Your store manager again changed his story to Timbercreek didn\'t receive any snowglobes but not to worry he would take our names and addresses, wrangle up some from another store and contact us.
Needless to say, I haven\'t been contacted and I don\'t think I will be. But my question to you is why did your Timbercreek store manager lie to me and other inquiring customers? Also is this the new JCPenney?

From the way this was bungled, I don\'t think you will ever get my family back on Black Friday let alone any other time.

Sincerely,
Doug Edwards
