€œNew Day Job Fair

April 1, 2016

Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia, Inc. would like to invite you to take part in our upcoming New Day Job Fair. The goals of this event is to create a successful job fair for men, women, and teenagers who are struggling to find work due to a criminal record or low levels of education. With the New Day Job Fair we plan to connect employees and employers. As a vendor, we would like your agency/company to offer those who have been formally incarcerated the opportunity to apply and potentially obtain employment through your company. In today's highly competitive job market adults with a GED and a criminal record find that they are at a deep disadvantage compared to their counterparts who have a high school diploma and no criminal background. This group statistically has less earning power and higher unemployment rates than the rest of the population. To combat the unemployment rates caused by incarceration, GED stigmas, and low education levels, MNM has decided to implement the “New Day Job Fair”. Connecting unemployed individuals with organizations that do not reinforce the normal barriers to workforce entry will help to ensure that these individuals are more likely to get jobs. With the €œNew Day Job Fair”, MNM is joining the fight to combat poverty and unemployment in Philadelphia.

If you agree to participate, please contact us before or by April 3, 2016. Questions or further information can be directed to Steve, Director of Philanthropy, .Thank you for considering participation in our New Day Job Fair.

Sincerely,
Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia, Inc.
