Brian sent a message to Gerard M. Anderson – Chief Executive Officer of DTE Energy Company – Email Address that said:
Mr. Anderson,
I am a former DTE Energy employee. I worked at Shenango Inc, for 5 1/2 years. I bought into the DTE Way, 200 percent accountability, you name it.The fact is, when you and your board of directors decided to shut down Shenango Coke battery, you crushed the hopes and dreams of 150 plus people and all of the contractors that relied on DTE Shenango. We watched your presentations saying how could you ask your employees to give everything they had and buy into the company if you were laying off people? Well 3 months after you shut Shenango down, DTE Energy bought another coke battery in Indiana, and DTE Energy's stock price is at an all time high I guess the steel industries downturn wasn't that bad like you guys said. Does it feel good making millions, while you put hundreds of people out of work for no reason? there was no attempt to idle or save, or sell Shenango, why? Only you and your board of directors know that answer.
Thank you.
Brian
