Mr. Anderson,
My father, Robert retired in 1987 as Director of Mechanical Engineering with almost 40 years of service. At his retirement party the then CEO Walt McCarthy publically referred to my Dad as the "engineers of engineers". What a tribute! Sadly, he passed away in September, 2011. He is survived by my Mother, Betty Lee Stanley, who will be 90 in 6 months, and has terminal cancer.
Hence, many changes over the last year all with regards to my Mother's health, which included moving to the Charlotte, NC area so that I could care for her.
For over 2 months she has been trying to get her 1099-R to complete her income tax filling with I needed to get an extension since this piece of needed information was not forwarded. She keeps getting the run around and still, after 5 phone calls, no 1099-R and not returned phone call as promised to her, or to me as she requested.
This is absurd and absolutely no way to treat an elderly woman whose late husband was a dedicated and loyal employee for many years.
Can you help resolve this problem so that her tax extension doesnt run out and we can focus on her during her remaining time.
