Dewey sent a message to Stephen Burke CEO, NBCUniversal, Inc. – email address that said:
Mr. Burke,
I received a cold call last Tuesday from a woman with Comcast. She told me that she could get me a lot more channels than I currently receive for the same amount that I am paying monthly. She said I would be receiving an additional box to which I could connect another phone to. I explained that I live by myself, have a cell phone that I've had for years and that is all I need. She said I would not need to use the box for that. I received the box last Friday. It was a wi-fi box. I called Comcast and explained that I did not need a wi-fi box and asked that they pick it up. They said they would take off the $10 monthly charge for the box. This was the first I heard of that. They indicated that if I did not use the box and returned it I would lose out on all the channels that I had been promised. I subsequently talked to a customer service person Sunday evening. He said his supervisor would call me Monday morning to make arrangements to pick up the box and see what he could do about getting me the additional channels that had been promised. Needles to say nobody called Monday and nobody came to pick up the box and of course I still have the same old channel lineup. I spent 3-4 hours on the phone last week regarding this whole mess. It has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Thanks for letting me gripe.
