Fred Rosenbaum sent a message to Stephen Burke CEO, NBCUniversal, Inc. email address that said:
Mr. Burke (or his AA),
I am concerned with your Raleigh affiliate, WRAL, and want to make sure you are aware of their behavior.
1) WRAL and ATT U-verse have been in a standoff for at least 8 weeks, which means we no longer get your programs. We missed the first episodes of the new season so have no interest in watching them all season even if it is resolved. Weve also discovered ABC Evening News and even though weve watched NBC news for years we will not be switching back if this is resolved.
2) You spent billions of dollars to carry the Olympics, a large part of your potential audience will not be able to watch them and could result in lack of interest in future Olympics. Im afraid my wife will go nuts when she hears we wont be able to see them but will agree we wont give in to switching cable providers.
3) WRAL lost the sponsorship of Raleighs Christmas Parade to ABC11 but plans to broadcast it anyway. This could end up ending future parades as no station will want to sponsor it if they can just set up cameras and broadcast it.
Obviously WRAL does not have the best interests of either the viewers, the community or your network foremost, all they care about is earning a buck. I really wish you would have a talk with them and let them know that is not the behavior your network condones.
Thank you
Fred Rosenbaum
PS the cheap free antennas they passed out do not pick up WRAL from my house.
