Mr. Carmichael - I am writing to you seeking your assistance in getting an issue resolved with Fifth Third Bank. I have an installment loan for a manufactured home in Lakeland Florida that I have paid off as of 5/3/17. I have been trying to get written confirmation and/or titles to that loan for the past few weeks with no success. The home has been sold and the new owners cannot get insurance without the titles. The bank is telling me that since the note originated in 2003, that they do not have the titles. The original lienholder was Southtrust Bank, which was sold to RG Crown Bank, which was taken over by Fifth Third. Your customer service personnel have told me that letters have been sent confirming my satisfaction of this loan, however neither I nor Polk County Florida have received this info. I am at my wits end trying to get confirmation of payment and release of this lien. I need a letter showing that the loan was paid, and it must include VIN numbers for the manufactured home in order for the county to accept it. In the event that I do not hear back from you in a timely manner, I have a complaint prepared to send to the State Of Ohio, Banking Commission.
