Yvonne sent a message to Michael L. Corbat CEO, Citigroup Inc. – email address that said:
Mr. Corbat, i would like you to look into the unethical way your collection lawyers ruban rothman llc.. out of Islandia, NY are doing business. I had a card since 2010 and due to my husband's unemployment running out. I fell behind in 2015, I tried to make steady payments but made the mistake of paying twice in nov. making dec.'s payment appear "not paid" . my account was sent to this collection lawyer and i contacted them wanting to set up payment arrangements, i was denied and told i had to go to court, I did, the judge ruled for a wage garnishment (this was in feb.), yesterday i was informed by my bank that your lawyers levied my bank accounts, taking literally every cent i had,we live paycheck to paycheck, they took, my mortgage, my car ins., my phone, and electric payments. due to their hostile act my house will be forclosed on if i cant scrap up the monthly payment, my ins. is cancelling , and my elec. will be shut off by monday. I'm a preschool teacher, my husband works construction when he can find work. i thought your company was for the working class, by using lawyers that literally rob you in the night makes me reconsider all the positive things i read about citibank. the irony is my mortgage is with citimortgage, so the lawyers for citicard took the payment that was suppose to go to citimortgage. I'm not saying I didn't owe a balance, the garnish was taking care of it, it's the ruthless cold-harded way your lawyers robbed my bank to settle a debt that a judge already ruled on. just thought I'd bring to your attention what kind of people you have working for you. sincerely, an ex customer
