Joan Fenton sent a message to Brian C. Cornell Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Target Corporation - email address that said:

Mr. Cornell: I read in the paper this morning that your company, Target Corporation, has had some problems with its financial success and that you are thinking of making some changes. Ive been a loyal customer of Target for nearly 40 years. Im sure my family and I have spent tens of thousands of dollars there. Up until last year, it was our store of choice. But after your core values change to embrace homosexuality and gender confusion issues, my family and I decided that we could no longer shop at your store. When we felt unsafe and uncomfortable using the restroom at a Target store, that was the end for us. When you changed your girls and boys departments into gender-neutral departments, that sealed our decision to shop elsewhere. While I truly believe through my Christian, Christ-following faith that all are created by God and loved by God, it is very obvious in scripture that God calls some things sin. Homosexuality is one of those things. We have chosen not to shop in stores that promote, encourage, invite, and embrace this choice of behavior. Were sorry to have to leave Target as it has been a very nice place to shop for these many years. Possibly we are not the only ones who feel this way. This could very well be a major cause for your downturn in business. Thank you for listening, Joan Fenton
