Leslie sent a message to Brian C. Cornell Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Target Corporation – email address that said:
Mr Cornell,
I will keep this short, as I HOPE that you have been inundated with similar emails.
Being a proud military spouse, I have been a lifelong shopper at Target stores all of the USA. Because of your new policy to allow "everybody to use any bathroom or dressing room they choose", I will no longer shop at Target stores. It's not a hate thing, although many people will spin it that way. For me, it's all about safety. You and Target have abdicated your responsibility to protect your customers- ALL of your customers. You have chosen to appease a few and in doing so, have alienated many, MANY more. You have alienated many faithful and loyal customers and shirked your responsibility to provide a safe and secure shopping environment. I am disappointed by the corporate decision that Target has made, I hope that the new policy is a huge failure and your profits tank.
