Wiesje sent a message to Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Zenith, will be taking the reins as global CEO of Rolex – email address that said:
Mr. Dufour,
This is a question from a woman in The Netherlands. I am married and have three children.
We are a normal hard working family.
15 years ago the father of my husband died and there was a little bit of money. My husband bought his first Rolex. He was so lucky and it gave him self confidence. 5 years ago we where 25 years married and my husband bought me a Rolex.
Because of changing jobs, we had to move to the other side of the country and we sold our house.
With the rest of the money, we bought our two girls a Rolex, our son recieved the Rolex from my husband, and my husband bought a golden Rolex.
We are a Rolex-family.
But a few months later... The watches from the girls had a rotor problem. Last year the first watch of my husband had a rotor problem. And today my watch has a rotor problem.
It makes me mad!
We have spent lots of money.
And the problem is that the people from the shop, asked us several times: are you rude? What kind of sports do you do?
There is nothing wild in our lives!
So tomorrow I must go to the shop in The Hague and I am so angry, because I know how difficult it is. The questions they're gonna ask me...
Sir, how is it possible that 4 of the 5 Rolex-watches we have, have this big problem??
With kind regards ,
Wiesje
