Elizabeth Troudt sent a message to Marvin R. Ellison – President of J. C. Penney Company Inc.- email address that said:
Mr Ellison,
I am writing to you to let you know the frustrating and disappointing shopping experience I had trying to order some drapes online from Pennys.
After I had selected my drapes, a qnty of 8, it came back and told me some of the items were now out of stock on line, but available at my local store for pickup. There was no option to order them for the store pickup, so I called customer service. The lady was very helpful, but she didn't know how to order them either. Must be a system gliche. She said to call the store and have them hold them for me for pickup tomorrow. I called the store and there was no listing for a drapery dept, so I connected with the women's dept. That woman hung up on me. I then got someone in the shoe dept that knew nothing since he was new and said the person he asked didn't know anything about drapes either. The end of this story is, I deleted my items from my online cart and found similar and in fact cheaper drapes at Sears. They will be delivered to my house in a week. Pennys lost out on a sale of about $100 and I doubt I will be back. Don't know what happened to the store I shopped at years ago.
