Mr. Farrell,
I am very disappointed in Dominion Power lack of customer service that your company has.
I do take the blame that I got behind on my payments and ended up getting my power disconnected in 100 degree weather.
What I will not take is a technician asking my 11 year old son if there are any pets out back where the power meter is and my son informing him that we have back yard chickens. After my son let the technician know that we had chickens he had to leave for soccer camp. Coming home knowing that there was no power on the house I noticed that the back gate was left opened and out of my six chickens only three were in the back yard. My family looked for these egg laying pets all night not being able to find them. The next morning going to work I noticed two of them were hit by cars and the other was never found. I filed a complaint and to this day I have not heard anything from Dominion Power. The company is fast to turn off power when they are not making money but slow to react to things that the company is at fault for.
So talking money each chicken was $10.00 each equaling $30.00
Each chicken laid an organic egg a day equaling 365 eggs a year
So 3 missing chickens equaling 1092 eggs a year for 4 to six years (91 dozen eggs a year at $3.50 a dozen for organic eggs equaling $318.00 dollars a year by 4 years equaling $1274.00) and have owned these chickens a little over a year.
I have lost a lot of money because the lack of respect that a technician had at my home and the lack of communication from Dominion Power.
I will tell you if there was another power company that I could go to I would. But not being able to go anywhere else due to the power company having a monopoly on power and being able to charge what they want I am stuck.
I could go on and on with the power companies in the United States but feel that I am just wasting my breath and nothing will ever get done about this situation.
