Kathy sent a message to Mark Fields – President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company email address that said:
Mr. Fields, As a former resident of Detroit and having been fed on Ford dollars (both my parents worked for Ford), I am appalled by the fact that Ford and so many other American companies are moving factories to foreign soil. This country needs jobs to remain here for our people. I find it difficult to believe that costs cannot be kept down to an affordable level here in our country. If indeed the President elect is able to impose a high import tax or tariff, how will your company be able to offset that added cost? Although there are a great many reasons that I did not vote for Mr Trump, I wholly agree with this particular policy. Please take into consideration the effect of moving our factories to foreign soil will continue to have on the people who will benefit from keeping jobs here.
